Explore

Alywn & Olive share a deep passion for the countryside, cherishing its rich habitat. The riverbank, adorned with lush grasses and vibrant wildflowers, is a haven for wildlife- from buzzing bees and fluttering butterflies, to the delicate dancing craneflies often seen on the river. If you sit quietly by the river you will see a whole range of birds. We have joined the David Bellamy Blooming Marvellous Pledge for Nature, which focuses 100% on wildlife.

Relax alongside the River Teme, walking, fishing or just watching the gentle flow of water. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a picnic.

Fishing tickets can be purchased at reception.

There are a host of birds to be spotted along the river including Dippers, Kingfisher Ducks and Gooseanders, so fantastic for the twitchers visiting us.

One of our favourite walks is to The Church of St Mary Magdalene, Little Hereford, a 20 min stroll along a footpath by the River Teme (about 1 ¼ km). An ordinance survey map will show you the extensive local footpath network of wonderful paths in our area.

You can cycle on the B roads to Ludlow or Tenbury Wells and enjoy a well earned refreshment in one of the many coffee shops and bistro’s. Mortimer Forest is also a very popular rural cycle ride.

Little Hereford (with 388 residents) is 3 miles north-east from Tenbury, 8miles from Leominster, 6½ miles from Ludlow, and 21miles from Hereford.

From our convenient location, you can easily access the nearby towns of Tenbury Wells, Ludlow and Leominster where a myriad of local produce, craft markets and history abound including the impressive castle at Ludlow and the beautiful historic and iconic black and white buildings.
